I missed her on her first trip to Pittsburgh, but Tina Turner passed through again on what is said to be her last major tour. I'd never been to one of her concerts before, but, as a person, she has always impressed me. For one thing, she continues to look fabulous and she's got more energy than I could ever hope to have.
Michele, Ammon, and I got tickets to her concert and had pretty good seats. However, while Michele and Ammon were looking for an ATM before Tina came on stage, a Mellon Arena employee approached them and asked if they would like front-row center tickets. Apparently, "Tina" (we're all on a first-name basis I guess) wasn't using her special guest seats tonight. Soooo, by this incredible stroke of luck, we were moved up to the very front row, right in the middle. We could not have had better seats anywhere else in the Arena! We even appeared on the large monitors several times as the cameras panned back and forth.
She was really great about interacting with the front row and it made for a very enjoyable performance. I don't have any pictures of the event, but I felt that the evening needed to have something recorded for posterity.
